First One

Hi!
This is my first post on this blog.
I don't know what's good to be a starter, but I think I would like to introduce myself first.

My name's Nisrina. I'm a student at one of Indonesian universities, majoring in agriculture.

I didn't really like my major at the first time I got accepted into my university. I didn't know much about agriculture; never expect myself to be a farmer before. The good thing is that I did have a dream to become a scientist, and this major gives me chance to become one.

After several semesters studying agriculture, I started to change my mind about this field. Agriculture is fun. It's also a very big deal; where the world needs to be fed. The biggest source of our food is agriculture, then followed by stock raising. Moreover, this country is very broad; our land dominated by agricultural land.
This sector in Indonesia is very potential. It's too bad that we are lacking of management skill, hence agricultural sector isn't as developed as it should be, yet.

The goverment is being focus only on industrial sector, while agricultural sector has been treated so different. Farmer's poverty level keep raising, makes most of people in villages turn their occupation from farmer to laborer.

Whereas, national food needs keep increasing as much as newly born level does. Moreover, agricultural land keep decreasing, because they turn the land to people's houses.

Those problems are challenges for us, who will lead this country for the next 10-20 years.

This is where we, as youngsters, can make a change for this country. We have to learn well in order to become a helpful person for this big and awesome country.
